IDC-Oregon will pursue a Practice Act in 2011

The Interior Design Collaborative of Oregon (IDC-Oregon) conducted a state-wide online survey in April of this year entitled “A Title or Practice Act: You decide.”  The survey was the culmination of three Town Hall meetings hosted over the last year where the board presented a Draft Title and Practice Act.  The survey was sent to over 500 people, allies and opposition alike.  Of the 176 respondents, the overwhelming majority called for pursuing a Practice Act in Oregon.

IDC-Oregon presented these results to the IDC-Oregon membership on May 11th.  They discussed strategies and the next steps necessary for this action as well as called for volunteers to help in the effort.  After the meeting, the IDC-Oregon board voted on the direction of the proposed legislation.  Based on their vote, IDC-Oregon will now pursue a Practice Act for the Interior Design profession in the State of Oregon during the 2011 legislative session.
